The SEC charged SolarWinds for hiding cybersecurity issues and giving a false impression of their security practices to investors, even though they were aware of the risks since 2018. SolarWinds denies the charges and believes it will harm national security. The breach was carried out by the Russian SVR and affected the networks of numerous US government agencies.
